June 6, 2022 Meeting Minutes

 

 

Members Present: Allen Proctor, Dennis Carr, Barbara Peavey, Lois Jones, Megan Baker, Darlene Bagley

Others Present:  Chris Doherty, Sandy Hughes, Chanell McLellan, Chanell McLellan,, Jim Frazier

Allen called to order 5:00 p.m.

Secretary Report  Motion by Barbara, 2nd by Lois to except minutes  printed.   All in favor

Treasurer’s Report:  Balance $78,022.81.  Motion by Barbara, 2nd by Allen to except as printed, all in favor.

 

CMCMA:  went over new rules with gym floor being refinished. 

No hard sole shoes

Check make sure chairs have rubber legs

No jam for June and July.

CMCMA   parking lot no lights last jam, concern sharing storage with Michelle

They will do fundraiser for Community Center Oct. 8, no rent for this, start around noon setup 10:00 am, Community Center in charge of concessions.

Jim Frazier, Need posters on gym doors stating rules about shoes and others

 

Central Maine Quarterscale Tractor Pulling:  Chris Doherty presented wanting to hold a ¼ scale tractor pull as part of Corinna Days.  This would be with the club Central Maine Quarterscale Tractors.  This would be called the Allen Bemis Memorial Pull for children.  Ages ? 

Community Center in charge of admission and concessions.   Chris and club has insurance $400/event.  Chris would set up track out on field nearest TDS building.  Would rototill sod and reseed if only one time or place in a gravel base if interested in more events.

Admission $10. Spectators and $12. Tractor and driver.    Estimates 20-30 tractors and 80-120 spectators. 

Moved by Barbara and 2nd by Lois to allow Chris to go ahead with this.  All in favor

 

Perfect Fit Community Center Rental rates:

Rooms  $50 for 4 hours resident                                $75 for 4 hours resident

              $75 for 4 hours non-resident                        $100 for 4 hours non-resident

Gym       $25 per hour                                                 $25 per hour

              $150 per day                                                 $200 per day

Moved by Allen 2nd by Megan to approved proposed rates.  All in favor.

 

Playground:  Lois will rewrite fundraising letter and sent out a list of businesses.

Public works, Justin Gudroe and Scooter Turtle have looked at playground and do not feel most is moveable and able to be put back together. 

 

Corinna Days: Do we want to take part in parade?  Maybe with Michele Ervin or Rec. Dept. a joint venture promoting the Community Center activities.
